Let’s Celebrate!

The DIXIE DADDYS can be a great spark for your celebration. Whether it’s a County Fair, Centennial pageant, town picnic, summer street concert, evening dance, or an old fashioned ice cream social, our toe tapping Dixieland tunes will have young and old alike cheering.

Almost everywhere we go in this area we encounter fans who tell us they have come especially to hear us. We are a professional Dixieland band which has been active all around Siouxland since it was organized in 1985. Our musicians are business and professional people of varying disciplines, most living in the Sioux City area. Our programs consist mainly of “standards” of Ragtime, Dixieland, and Swing from the 1910’s to the 1950’s, with an occasional Country or Novelty number thrown in. We feature ensemble playing and solo “breaks” by the individual players which emphasize improvisation, and stay away from standard “packaged” arrangements. Being spontaneous is much more fun!

Over the past few years, our appearances have included the Plymouth, Lyon, Palo Alto, and Woodbury County fairs; Rock Rapids Heritage Days, Grand Meadow Heritage Festival, Logan Village Green Celebration, Sioux City Rivercade; Centennials in Albert City, LeMars, Anthon, and Missouri Valley; and special events at the Sioux City Convention Center, Sioux City Anderson Dance Pavilion, Yankton Area Arts Association, Sheldon Village Northwest Unlimited, Sioux City Public Museum, RAGBRAI, and the Belle of Sioux City Casino.
